It is also frequent to celebrate holidays, as is the case of Saint John or Grandparents Day, which facilitate the integration of the users and the involvement of their families.
The visits of families or friends are encouraged, and there is no timetable to do so. The users can freely enjoy all the space of downtown Porto and the river side, leaving the Home whenever they wish, both for short and longer periods, which allows them to maintain their integration in society and to keep pursuing and enjoying theirs interests.
The Margarida Lisboa Nursing Home, initially intended for the provision of aid to the Order's Brothers, is today, within its capacity, open to all citizens. Its main objective is to provide care to meet the basic needs and daily activities of the users, in terms of accommodation, food, hygiene, health and leisure.
All employees at Margarida Lisboa Nursing Home honor the commitment to guarantee and respect the independence, individuality and privacy of the users. One of the main concerns of workers of the Home is to create pleasant moments for the users through fun, optional activities that stimulate the body and the mind. Adapted gym sessions, games about culture and geography, and activities that promote interaction among users are frequent.
The Margarida Lisboa Home has single and double rooms. Each room includes a bathroom equipped with supports, as well as being furnished with all the essential equipment to guarantee the comfort of the users.
Although all rooms are equipped with all amenities, it is given to the users the possibility, to decorate their rooms with their own furniture and personal decorations, in order to maximize the feeling of comfort and well-being.
All users of Margarida Lisboa Home have access to personal hygiene and structures support, spiritual support, physical and cognitive stimulation activities, clothing treatment and sewing services.
The health services provided by the Home include a doctor, a nursing team and follow-up to consultations in case of need.
All floors have a living room with a small kitchen.
Users can enjoy other services such as hairdresser, physiotherapist and gymnasium, supporting the respective costs in the regulation
The Rainha Santa Isabel Residence aims to provide physical care and psychosocial support to residents in order to contribute to their balance and quality of life. The Residence provides social welfare to its users, in a healthy coexistence and environment.
More than an accommodation, the Rainha Santa Isabel Residence aims to stimulate the users to enjoy the potential of coexistence that the establishment provides through optional activities that stimulate the physical and intellectual capacity of the elderly.
Users can leave the Residence at any time they wish, for short or longer periods.
The privileged location of the Residence offers its users the possibility to enjoy immediately, leaving the respective facilities, all life and services existing in the center and the waterfront of Porto.
Visits from family and friends can also be made at any time during the day, preferably between 11am and 8pm.
The Residence Rainha Santa Isabel has not only single rooms and double rooms, but also single and double apartments. All the rooms have a fully adapted bathroom, in order to facilitate their use and enhance the independence of the users.
Users of the Residence have the possibility to bring furniture to decorate their rooms or apartments in order to customize the rooms and feel in a more familiar and comfortable environment.
All guests at Rainha Santa Isabel Residence are entitled to daily cleaning of the room and a weekly general cleaning, with change of bed linen and towels. Residence services include spiritual support, physical and cognitive stimulation activities, clothing treatment and sewing services. The health care provided includes regular access to a doctor, a nursing team and follow-up of any consultations. All floors have a living room with a small kitchen.
Residents are also entitled to a discount on the costs of the health services of the Hospital, including specialty consultations, complementary means of diagnosis, hospitalization and the OR.
It is also possible to enjoy amenities such as a hairdresser, a physiotherapist and a gym, for an additional fee.
In the Order of Saint Francis of Porto we carry out a service of proving food for the needy that is open to all the people who need it.
Meals are served daily at 11:00 am in a dinning hall on Rua do Comércio, purchased, equipped and decorated by the Order for this purpose.
About 40 meals a day are distributed during the week and 45 every Saturday and Sunday.
The religious services are guided by Father Chaplain of VTOSFP, who accompanies daily the activities in the Order.
The brothers and staff of VOSFP guarantee the cleanliness of the Church, guard the sacred altar, and, with the help of Father Chaplain who provides spiritual support to the hospital, home and senior residents, prepare and collaborate in the Eucharist and organize the main festivities of the religious calendar.
